 キヌコY.クラフトは、今日アメリカにおいて最も広く知られており、高い評価を受けているファンタジー・アーティストのひとりです。過去の作品には、多くの著名なファンタジー小説や、SF小説の表紙、オペラのポスター、絵本、さらに「Time」や「Newsweek」を含む多くの全国誌の表紙や、「National Geographic Magazine」の記事の絵も手掛けています。キャリアを通じて、彼女は作品に対する細部へのこだわりと、芸術への情熱、美術史に対する深い教養を持ち合わせていることで知られるようになりました。

 また、彼女の作品は各地で展示されており、現在はニューヨーク、ジョージア州アトランタ、カリフォルニア州サンタ・バーバラ、テキサス州ダラス、コネチカット、サンフランシスコ、ニューハンプシャー、イタリア、日本、ギリシャの個人コレクションに所蔵されています。また、カレンダーやポスター、グリーティングカード等に、たくさん商品化されています。

 クラフト氏は、1962年に金沢美大として知られる金沢美術工芸大学を卒業しています。日本で生まれ、1960年代に渡米し、1年半シカゴ美術館付属美術大学でデザインとイラストレーションの勉強をしました。彼女の作品は、美術館や専門機関、アートやデザイン専門誌、コンペティションやショーなどで幾度となく高い評価を得ており、長年にわたって200近い賞を受賞しています。


Kinuko Y. Craft is one of the most widely respected and well known Imaginary Realist artists in the United States today. Her past commissions have included paintings for the book covers of many well known fantasy and science fiction authors, opera posters, illustrated books and cover art for many national magazines, including Time, Newsweek and articles for The National Geographic Magazine. During her career she has become known for meticulous attention to detail, a passionate love of fine art and an extensive knowledge of art history.

Her art has been widely exhibited and is now in private collections in New York City, Atlanta GA, Santa Barbara CA, Dallas TX, Connecticut, San Francisco, New Hampshire, Italy, Japan and Greece and has been widely licensed on calendars, posters, greeting cards and other consumer goods.

Ms. Craft is a graduate, BFA 1962, of The Kanazawa Municipal College of Fine and Industrial Art (known in Japan as The Kanazawa Bidai). She was born in Japan and came to the United States in the early 1960’s where she continued studies in design and illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for a year and a half. Kinuko Y. Craft’s work has been repeatedly recognized by museums, professional organizations, art and design publications, competitions and art shows, garnering close to 200 awards over the years.
